Project Management Training Courses
We have with a number of clients in a variety of industries to train project managers and other project staff in project management skills, a critical success factor for many organizations. The majority of these engagements have been for PMP/CAPM accreditation through the PMI but we have also developed and delivered customized project management training for individual institutions.
Training the Trainer
We have worked with subject matter experts to help them understand how best to develop and deliver training so that it is effective and avoids the purely didactic lecture which, for many inexperienced trainers, is the default position. These courses are generally a mixture of face-to-face classroom training and individual coaching sessions. We provide full support to the subject matter experts as they create courses and feedback on their delivery method. We also help the sponsor of the initiative to promote the initiative internally and decide on, and collate, a set of metrics against which success can be measured.
Medical Education Courses
We have created an entirely new model for pharmaceutical company sponsored medical education, including mandatory clinical trial education, using modern education techniques to move away from the didactic lecture format to create engaging events for doctors so improving attendance, retention and, through a focus on communication skills, patient outcomes. This model is now being developed for use in teaching hospitals and other medical education fields.
Onboarding facilitation
A leading financial services firm based in the UAE was creating a new division and we were engaged to work with the CEO and his team of 12 people to ensure that they shared a similar vision of the challenges ahead and the right way to meet this successfully.
Process Improvement and Cultural Change through facilitation.
We were asked by the CEO to work across all functions of a newly formed joint-venture. WE developed and led process-based walkthroughs helping to create a better understanding of various processes and a sense of ownership. Opportunities to improve the processes were identified by their owners and these are incorporated in the ISO 9000 plans of the organization. The senior team recognized that the changes identified needed to be implemented as part of a cultural change programme and we worked with them to begin this. This involved showing them new approaches to use conflict within the team as a way of working towards change and also some new strategic decision making tools, designed to help them make better decisions faster.
We designed and led a project to investigate and manage organizational culture and cultural change at a professional services firm experiencing rapid growth. This work entailed working closely with the managing partner of the firm, gathering, analyzing qualitative data through interviews and producing a written report for the sponsor.
Coaching
We have worked with senior executives in a wide range of industries to help them develop a better understanding of their style and how it effects their ability to get things done. These executives are usually already highly effective and skilled people who wish to consider new tools that might help them as they face their next challenge.
Occasionally the executive is initially resistant to the idea of being coached and we have experience in both overcoming this resistance where it is possible and also identifying individuals for whom coaching may not, at least at the moment, be the right answer.
